SXSW 2008 side parties and day parties

Word on the street is the slumping economy may result in a SXSW side party scene that's quieter this year than in years past. Nonetheless, we still suspect there will be plenty of opportunities for fest-goers and badgeless locals alike to check out great music while imbibing in a free drink or four. Consequently, we've begun to compile our annual list of SXSW side parties and daytime events. This list will grow to include both official and unofficial events culled from a variety of sources including official SXSW announcements, press releases from promoters, Web sightings (on this excellent site, for example), random scraps of paper dropped on our desks, etc.

We'll mark parties that require badges or wristbands as such, and we will try to include as much information as possible about who's playing and whether or not parties include free libations. (We know what you're looking for.) We'll be updating this list daily through the end of the fest. If you spot incorrect information, or if you'd like to add your own party, hit us up.
