He's back.
Seven months after his last weeklong blast of exploitation flicks, Quentin Tarantino returns to Austin for "QT-Seven: The Best of QT," starting April 24 at the Alamo Downtown, with a special outdoor screening April 25 at the Glenn at the Backyard.
Tarantino is hauling out his favorite movies from the past six festivals, where the writer-director of "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill" personally introduces and gabs about dozens of overlooked classics that celebrate the slasher, cheerleader, hillbilly, sex, kung fu, monster and gangster movie subgenres.
Badges for QT-Seven go on sale at 8 a.m. April 4 through the Austin Film Society, the festival organizer. Badges ($145 each, limit two per person) are available to society members only and only by phone; call 322-0145.
Nightly passes are $20 for weeknights and Sunday and $30 on Friday and Saturday. Single-screening tickets are $10. Get more information at www.austinfilm.org.
