Events
There are a number of ways passengers can pay Capital Metro fares. Buses are equipped with fare boxes that will accept exact change, fare tickets or dollar bills. Please note, however, that fare boxes do not make change and drivers do not have access to fare boxes. Ticket Books, available at all Austin-area HEB, Fiesta, Randall's and Albertson's grocery stores, and the Capital Metro information Center at 106 East 8th St., are an excellent way to save on the cost of one-way fares. Each Ticket Book features 20 tickets valued at 50 cents each, for only $5- a 50% savings. Passengers who ride Special Transist Service may also enjoy the convenience of using a Ticket Book. Ten 60cent tickets are just $3- a one-half price savings. Monthly passes, available at all locations which sell Ticket Books, allow you to ride as often as you like, anytime day or night, weekdays or weekends. Metro Pass ($10 for adults, $5 for students) entitles the holder to unlimited ridership on all Metro routes, Flyer routes, and UT shuttle routes. One-way cash fare for these services are 50cents for adults and 25cents for students. Express Pass ($17 for adults, $8.50 for students) lets commuters park free in one of eleven Park & Ride lots plus offers unlimited rides on Express Park & Ride service as well as all other transportation options except public event shuttles. The daily one-way adult fare for Express Park & Ride routes is $1 with students paying 50 cents. STS Pass Qualified mobility-impaired riders using Special Transit Service may purchase a monthly Special Transit Service Pass for only $15. The one-way fare is 60 cents. No discounted or waived fares are offered. Commuter Vanpool Passes are available for passengers of RIDEFINDER'S vanpools which operate exclusively within the service area. Passengers age 65 and older, Medicare Card holders or individuals with mobility impairments may ride all Capital Metro fixed route services free, except Special Transit Service, VANPOOLS and Public Event Shuttles, upon presentation of a Capital Metro ID card, Medicare card or other approved ID. Children, five years of age or younger, ride free when accompanied by an adult.
