Capital Metro has a transfer policy which allows passengers to make stops along the route without paying additional fare. Passengers may still use transfers to ride additional bus routes to reach their final destination. A transfer is free, but non-transferable to another person. Request a transfer from the operator when you pay your fare. Transfers will not be issued after you board the bus. Passengers can use transfers for round trip travel within the specified transfer time limit, on all routes, including route pairs. The time allowed for a passenger to complete a transfer will be ninety minutes after the issuing route reaches its final destination. (Previous policy provided use of transfer for a minimum of three (3) hours but did not allow round trip travel.) A transfer is valid for up to two route changes. The new transfer design includes a coupon that must be removed by the operator for the first route change. The balance of the transfer must be surrendered by the passenger for the second route change. If a passenger with a transfer boards a premium service they need only pay 50 cents. The passenger can pre-pay upon receipt of the transfer.
"Paired" routes A "paired" route bus may begin service as the #1/N.Lamar and change signs to #13/S.Congress and continue south. If your destination is on a route which is "paired"with your original route, it is not necessary to change buses. Schedules indicated which trips continue as another route.
