Capital Metro provides a van for groups of 6-15 employees who live & work near each other (with similar work schedules). Volunteer drivers are responsible for the van, driving and reporting. Primarys driver pay no fare and are allowed personal use of the van nights and weekends. Base fare is $25/month and is based on the origin & destination of the work trip The Vanpool fare is $25 per month for vans that operate in the Capital Metro service area. Cities included in CapMetro service area are Austin, Leander, Jonestown, Lago Vista, Manor and San Leanna. Travis County Precinct 2 and Williamson County Precincts 1 and 2 are also part of the Capital Metro service area. Vans that operate outside of these cities are also now available. The fare for these vans is based upon the number of miles outside of the Capital Metro service area (including the $25 monthly base fare). The first step in starting your own vanpool is to recruit members who live and work in the same general areas. Find people to vanpool with at 360's Carpool message board or through a vanpool request.
There are two different size vans available to new groups which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
