Here are my favorite movies in which food plays a starring role:

'Chocolat' |
2. 'Big Night' (1996, American): Two immigrant brothers try to save their Italian restaurant in New Jersey with an inspired meal that they thought they would be serving to singer Louis Prima.
3. 'Chocolat' (2000, American): A rigid, conservative village in France finds excitement after a young chocolatier opens a shop and tempts more than the residents' taste buds.
4 'Like Water for Chocolate' (1992, Mexican): Sumptuous cooking helps shape the destiny of a young Mexican woman in the early part of the 20th century.
5. 'Eat, Drink, Man, Woman' (1994, Taiwan): A master chef is devoted to his daughters, yet manages to show it only through the elaborate Sunday dinners that he cooks in place of open, honest communication.
