Benson Lauded, Horns Stay Put In Rankings

Game Story | Game Stats

Rankings: UT stayed put in both polls (No. 4 in the coaches', No. 3 in the writers'), although the Horns did garner an extra first-place vote in both. (For the record, Florida State is No. 1 in both polls - which doesn't seem very likely, but who knows?)

Honors: Though I expected Cedric Benson to garner some national attention for his work, he was passed over for some guy from California. He did, however, secure Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week Honors.

Injuries: None at all, thank goodness. It's too early to deal with a major injury.

Outlook for Game Two: Arkansas is nowhere near the pushover that New Mexico State proved to be, so I'm gonna have to open up the playbook a little bit to slip past them.

Chance Mock played well (8-for-15 with 1 TD and 1 INT), but not great, overthrowing his receivers once or twice and periodically throwing into coverage. This wouldn't bother me much, but with Vincent Young looking like he did (1-for-1, 1 TD) - man, I'm Jonesin' to put him in there.

I'm not trying to put any pressure on Chance or anything - but he'd better look better against the Razorbacks, that's all I'm saying.
