Game Stats | Game Aftermath

Final Score: Nebraska 31, Texas 24

Overview: I won the toss, maybe the first time all season I won a coin toss of any type, and let them go first.

True to form, I held them to a third-and-really long situation, and Lord -- under pressure, no less -- threw off his back foot into double-coverage and completed the pass, this one to Jack O'Holleran, for the go-ahead touchdown. The fact he completed the pass didn't shock and upset me nearly as much as the fact O'Holleran dragged not one but two Longhorn defenders into the end zone from about five yards out, after he made the catch.

Mock was very good in OT, completing a 13-yard pass to Roy Williams on a 4th-and-8 play and barely missing a heavily covered B.J. Johnson in the end zone on the final pass of the game.

You should've seen how shaken Cyber-Chance was after the game. It was gripping.

Overtime adjustments: Nothing worked. Why bother?

Key plays: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Players of the game: On a very rainy afternoon, Mock completed 15 of his 32 passes for 214 yards, with 2 TDs and no INTs. Not a bad day's work. Too bad it was spoiled by my Playstation 2's relentless cheating. Do I sound bitter?

On to The Aftermath.
