The Austin Public Library offers a variety of media with which residents can expand their knowledge of the world. From books to videos to CD-ROMs, the system and its branches house more than 1.5 million items. Besides research assistance, the libraries have copiers and printers, computer training, meeting rooms, adaptive equipment, proctoring, tours, information for new immigrants and free tutoring for students.
