The liquor store chain Total Wine & More is expanding like whiskey barrels under a hot Texas sun and will add a third location in North Austin later this week.
At 10001 Research Blvd., Ste. 300, in the Arboretum, the store will have a grand opening celebration on July 13 with wine, beer and spirits tastings, special giveaways and more. Plus, Total Wine is donating 10 percent of all wine sales during its grand opening weekend (July 13-15) to Communities in Schools of Central Texas, a dropout prevention program for at-risk students.
The Maryland-based company expanded to Austin for the first time in 2015, when it opened a store in Sunset Valley and later in Cedar Park. A fourth location in Mueller is also slated to open in late summer this year.
Like the other Total Wine stores, the Arboretum location — spanning more than 20,000 sq. ft. — will have a whole lot of booze on sale: more than 8,000 wines from every wine-producing region in the world, more than 3,000 spirits in just about every style and price range, and more than 2,500 beers. There will also be a walk-in humidor with cigars and a wine-tasting station.
