What better way to show off your Texas spirit during homecoming than with a Whataburger-themed mum?

The truly Texan tradition has grown both literally and figuratively over the years. Mums — traditionally a flower decorated with streaming ribbons, bells and trinkets and usually worn with safety pins or garters — have evolved to include multiple flowers, stuffed animals, large letters and even lights worn as a massive necklace. The decorative pieces are worn the day of a high school’s homecoming football game.

Not to be left out of this tradition, Texas fast food chain Whataburger posted a video on its Facebook page showing fans how to make an orange-and-white homecoming mum, echoing the brand’s famous colors. The company’s website also features blogger Haeley Giambalvo’s step-by-step instructions.

The mum features five white flowers and multiple white and orange ribbons of varying patterns and textures. A strand of silver stars, a ribbon featuring letters spelling out “Whatamum” and a plastic Texas shape bearing Whataburger’s name finish off the bottom of the mum.

The center of the flowers features a makeshift container of those famous Whataburger fries. The whole piece is held up by a thick piece of orange ribbon meant to be worn around the neck.
