If you think a new year means a lot of new programming, you’re mostly wrong. Here’s what to watch and what to avoid on television this week:

Monday: “Enchanted” 7 p.m., NBC: A winning Amy Adams carries this slight tale of a fairytale princess in modern-day New York.

“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark” 7 p.m., ABC: Jenny McCarthy and Fergie host a tribute to the most famous New Year’s counter-downer ever.

“Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2013” 9 p.m., ABC: Tonight’s countdown (interrupted only by your local news and a ton of commercials) features performances by Brandy, Taylor Swift and Pitbull.

“New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” 9 p.m., NBC: I can’t recommend watching Carson Daly if your goal is to stay awake until midnight.

Tuesday: “Parenthood” 9 p.m., NBC: This isn’t really my show, but it’s the only new program on the networks tonight, so I’ll probably check out Kristina’s new look.

Wednesday: “Nashville: The Whole Story” 9 p.m., ABC: I’d be more excited about this mid-season clip show if it had more music and less focus on soapy relationship drama.

Thursday: “The Big Bang Theory” 7 p.m., CBS: Sheldon’s in trouble for sexual harassment? Sheldon? A-sexual harassment I would have believed.

“Elementary” 9 p.m., CBS: It looks like we’ll find out why Watson sticks around now that Holmes is clean and sober. Speaking of clean, check out that body in the hotel washing machine.

Friday: “Cotton Bowl” 7 p.m., Fox: Texas A&M takes on Oklahoma in Arlington. Both teams boast 10-2 records.

“Shark Tank” 8 p.m., ABC: Entrepreneurs pitch a cabinet that combines video games with beer. If it can get me junk food from the pantry, I’ll buy one.

“Portlandia” 9 p.m., IFC: Season 3 of the hipster sketch show kicks off with an MTV overthrow and a meditation crush.

Saturday: “NFL Playoff” 7 p.m., NBC: This is a wild-card game, which is much more exciting than a “wild” card game.

Sunday: “The Simpsons” 7 p.m., Fox: Homer goes off the grid and all doomsday prepper.

“The Biggest Loser” 8 p.m., NBC: Jillian Michaels returns as Season 14 begins.
