Restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day offer turkey and fixings with none of the fuss

Long lines at the grocery store, sweating over the stove, stressing over the turkey, fighting over who cleans up - take the drama out of Thanksgiving dinner by taking up one of dozens of local restaurants on their holiday offerings. From the high-end to the simple, from all-you-can-eat to fixed price menus, Austin’s eateries have you covered for your Thanksgiving meal. Abel’s North Grill and Tap House (4001 W. Parmer Lane, 512-835-0010, Fixed-price four course meal. $35, $8 for children. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bakehouse Restaurant and Bar (5404 Manchaca Road, 512-443-5167, An all-you-can-eat dinner with table service. Turkey, ham, squash casserole, yams, stuffing, pumpkin pie and more. $15.95, $6.95 for ages 4 to 12. $12.95 for take out. 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Brick House Tavern & Tap (11680 A Research Blvd., 512-343-2000, Open for happy hour and dinner with a full menu of seasonal, chef-inspired dishes, craft beers and hand-crafted cocktails. 3 to 11 p.m.

Buca di Beppo (3612 Tudor Blvd., 512-342-8462, Turkey with Italian sausage stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, whole-berry cranberry sauce and mini chocolate chip cannolis. Small meal for up to three people is $49.95. Large meal for up to six people is $89.95. Open at 11 a.m.

The Carillon (1900 University Ave., 512-404-3655, Brunch items include maple-glazed pork belly benedict, pumpkin bread French toast, buttermilk marianated turkey breast and traditional stuffing and green bean casserole and more. $60, $19.95 for children age 6 to 12, free for children under 5. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Crú (238 W. Second St., 512-472-9463; 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, 512-339-9463, Three course meal featuring lobster bisque, butternut squash polenta, turkey breast, salmon, pumpkin pie and more. $36.50; $18.25 for children 12 and younger. Noon to 9 p.m.

The Driskill (604 Brazos Street, 512-439-1234, “A Feast of Flavors” Thanksgiving brunch menu served with unlimited champagne. $68; $29 for children ages 6 to 12; free for children 5 and younger.10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

El Sol y La Luna (600 E. Sixth St., 512-444-7770, A fixed traditional Thanksgiving menu with a few Mexican twists. Live jazz band from 6 to 8 p.m. Reservations accepted. 3 to 10 p.m.

Estancia Churrascaria (The Arboretum, 10000 Research Blvd., 512-345-5600, Traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings, as well as Estancia’s Southern Brazilian offerings. Lunch ($35.50) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner ($41.50) from 3 to 9 p.m.

Finn & Porter (500 E. Fourth St., 512-493-4900, Three-course fixed price menu featuring traditional favorites and guests’ choices of Butternut Squash Soup or Texas Winter Green Salad and Bourbon Pumpkin Pecan Pie or Nutella Bread Pudding. $45, $20 for children from noon to 8 p.m.

Goodall’s Kitchen and Bar at Hotel Ella (1900 Rio Grande St., 512-495-1800, Prix fixe Thanksgiving menu featuring updated twists on seasonal dishes. $94 with wine pairings; $59 with coffee and tea; $24 for children ages 6 to 12. Noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

Hyatt Regency Austin, Southwest Bistro (208 Barton Springs Road, 512-480-2035, A buffet with seven different food stations including traditional meat-carving and desserts. Reservations recommended. $60, $27 children 12 and under. 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Hyde Park Bar & Grill (4206 Duval St., 512-458-3168; 4521 Westgate Blvd., 512-899-2700, Thanksgiving dinner. $16.95 regular, $12.95 vegetarian, special price for children 10 and under. They also offer a takeout option for a Cajun seasoned fried turkey for $55. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lakeway Resort and Spa (101 Lakeway Drive, 512-261-7379, Brunch buffet. $50; $20 for children ages 3 to 12. 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Louisiana Longhorn Cafe (200 E. Main St., Round Rock, 512-248-2900, Serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner plus the regular menu. No reservations. $16.95; $6.95 children. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mimi’s Cafe (10515 N. Mopac, Bee Cave: 12613 Galleria Circle, Round Rock: 4151 N. Interstate 35, 512-241-0309, Traditional Thanksgiving dinner including turkey and all the regular fixings. $16.99 for adults and $8.99 for children 12 and under. 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa (8212 Barton Club Drive, 512-329-7906, Thanksgiving buffet featuring cherry chipotle-glazed ham, oak smoked prime rib and sauteed butternut squash ravioli. $64.95; $22.95 for children ages 6 to 12; free for children 5 and younger. 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Russian House (307 E. Fifth St., 512-428-5442, Unlimited Turkey for all dinner reservations from 4 p.m. until supplies last. Dinner served 4 to 11 p.m.

Snack Bar (1224 S. Congress Ave., 512-445-2626, The usual menu plus a fancy turkey special. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. brunch; 5 to 11 p.m. dinner.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse (300 Colorado St., Suite 200, 512-495-6504, Offering an array of traditional side dishes to go for pick up on Tuesday or Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Orders must be placed in advance.

Threadgill’s (6416 N. Lamar Blvd., 512-451-5440; 301 W. Riverside Drive, 512-472-9304, Holiday menu includes turkey and dressing, candied yams, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie and more. 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
