Austin Univision 62's music awards show, Premios Texas, has a few changes this
year.
For starters, the annual production will be hosted on Thursday from ACL Live.
For the first time in its history, the show, which has typically had a
delayed airing schedule, will stream live online via www.premiostexas.com
. And last, unlike previous years, fans are able to purchase tickets to
Premios Texas (in the past, audience members were made up Unvision 62
contest winners and sponsor guests).
Artists expected to attend and walk the red carpet this year include Mexican
pop singers Dulce Maria, Fedro and Leonel Garcia, Colombian singer Fonseca,
Dominican salsa crooner Elvis Crespo, former Kumbia King member Frankie J,
Spanish-language country band 8 Segundos and Tejano star Elida Reyna, as
well as Mexican regional and norteño bands Diana Reyes, Lalo Mora, Las
Fénix, El Trono de Mexico, La Original Banda El Limon, La Leyenda and La
Maquinaria Norteña.
Argentine singer Diego Verdaguer will receive an award for his outstanding
career, which spans almost 30 years.
Competing for the title of Best Female Vocalist are Dulce Maria, Diana Reyes,
Costa Rican songwriter Debi Nova and Mexican pop artist Belinda. Nominated
for Best Male Vocalist are Diego Verdaguer, Leonel Garcia, Elvis Crespo and
Fonseca.
Del Castillo, Chingo Bling, Las Fenix and Grupo Fantasma are nominated for
Best Texas Band.
