If sipping wine on a porch while listening to the sounds of live music in downtown Austin sounds like a nice way to spend a Wednesday evening, then you're in luck.
ACL Live is bringing back The Wine Down every Wednesday starting today, with a performance by Wild Child, a band whose sound includes the strums of a ukelele, and food provided by Catina Laredo.
Each week, the Wine Down offers live music from a local group or singer and food samples from a restaurant in the 2nd Street District and the surrounding downtown area, as well as happy hour-priced wines from The Dreaming Tree.
The series runs through May 30.
However, don't worry if you miss a performance or want to hear more from a band.
All artists were featured in a CD from the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau called "Austin Music Volume 11."
Released during South by Southwest, it contains 13 tracks from Austin artists, both up-and-coming and well-known. With the CD comes a 40-page guide to Austin's music scene.
The Wine Down music series is free and will run from 5 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday.
ACL Live is at 310 W. Second St. For more information on the shows, visit www.acl-live.com.
