Open: Hi Hat Public House, a restaurant at 2121 E. Sixth St., the former home of Braise. Chef Jesse Curtis’s menu includes everything from pork meatballs and beer-brined chicken wings to posole, herbed pappardelle and cassoulet, and the bar has two dozen craft beers on tap. Chef changes: Ben Hightower has left his position as chef de cuisine at Trace, and Julio-Cesar Florez has left Gusto Italian Kitchen to focus on his Peruvian food trailer, Llama’s, at 611 Trinity St. Highball chef Trish Eichelberger has been promoted to what the Alamo Drafthouse is calling the “Austin market concept chef.”
