Cafe Josie changes hands: Longtime Cafe Josie employee Cody Taylor and former Olive and June sous chef Brandon Fuller have taken over Cafe Josie from founder Charles Mayes, who says he’s been working closely with them to ensure a smooth transition. Mayes says he’ll still be involved with the Austin food scene but that it was time to see what Taylor and Fuller could do with the space and the lunch and dinner menus, which they’ve already updated. The restaurant at 1200 W. Sixth St. opened in 1997.
Chef shuffle: Jacob Weaver has left Haddingtons and Mulberry to join the kitchen team at Perla’s, and former El Chile/Stortini chef Kristine Kittrell is now in charge at Mulberry. Kyle Burgess, formerly of the Studio Kitchen in Round Rock, will oversee the kitchen at Haddingtons.

For the past five years, owners Gabriel and Sarwat Pellegrini have run the upscale eatery, even after a 2011 fire. In an email to customers, Gabriel Pellegrini said that a dispute with the landlord over construction of the restaurant’s new front patios led to the property management company declining to renew Pellegrini’s lease. Pellegrini says that they are looking at spaces to relocate the restaurant and that you can keep up with their progress at facebook.com/SaveSagraAustin.
Closing Saturday: La Boite Cafe, the popular bakery/coffeeshop housed in storage containers on South Lamar Boulevard and Congress Avenue, announced that its last day would be Saturday, citing problems finding a suitable wholesaler for baked goods.
