Austin restaurants plan special Easter menus

Easter is Sunday, and here are some of the restaurants offering special brunches or meals on the holiday or during the weekend. Call ahead — some require reservations. Are we missing yours? Email abroyles@statesman.com and we’ll add it to the list at austin360.com.

The Carillon (1900 University Ave., 404-3655, thecarillonrestaurant.com): Easter brunch with seatings beginning at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. featuring eggs benedict, marinated crab claws, olive oil poached salmon and an array of desserts and cheeses. $65 per adult. $19.95 per children ages 6 to 12. Children under 5 eat free.

Chez Zee (5406 Balcones Drive, 454-2666, chez-zee.com): Chez Zee’s regular bistro-based menu, and kids can get their photos taken with the Easter bunny. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Other activities include clowns, balloon twisters, face painters and magicians.

Cru a Wine Bar (238 W. Second St., 472-9463; 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, Suite 104 in the Domain. 339-9463, cruawinebar.com): Easter brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Three-course prix fixe menu includes pan-seared crabcake, Cru benedict, pan-roasted sea bass and bread pudding and creme brulee. $25.95 a person.

Eleven Plates & Wine (3801 N. Capital of Texas Hwy., 328-0110, elevenplates.com): Easter brunch buffet starting at 11 a.m. featuring a carving station with leg of lamb and smoked maple ham, made-to-order omelets, smoked salmon flatbread and fresh baked pastries. Also pitchers of mimosas, sangria and Bloody Mary’s will be available. $34 for adults and $16 for kids.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar (320 E. Second St., 457-1500; 11600 Century Oaks Terrace, 835-9463, flemingssteakhouse.com): Special three-course Easter brunch menu includes lobster bisque, prime rib with a trio of sauces, baked brioche French toast and white chocolate bread pudding. Seating available from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. $36.95 for adults; $17.95 for children under 12.

Gusto Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar (4800 Burnet Road, 458-1100, gustoitaliankitchen.com): Italian-themed Easter brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dishes include gemelli pasta with spinach and creamy parmigiana reggiano sauce, margherita pizza, creamy gorgonzola polenta, flourless chocolate torte and orange olive oil cake. $18.75 a person, $10.75 for children under 12.

Perry’s Steakhouse and Grill (114 W. Seventh St., 474-6300, perryssteakhouse.com): Special three-course dinner begins at 4 p.m. Sunday and includes any salad, Perry’s famous pork chops and a dessert trio of vanilla bean creme brulee, Grand Marnier chocolate truffle and praline cheesecake for $24.95.

Russian House (307 E. Fifth St. 428-5442, russianhouseofaustin.com): An all-you-can-eat buffet with live music and free Easter eggs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. $25 a person.

Sagra (1050 E. 11th St., 535-5988, sagraaustin.net): 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Easter buffet includes Italian scrambled eggs, strawberry stuffed French toast, house baked salmon and baked ziti. $24.95 a person. $12 for children 3 to 12, and free for kids younger than 3.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse (300 Colorado St., 495-6504, sullivanssteakhouse.com): Easter brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring a three-course fixe prix menu. Items include shrimp and lobster bisque, broiled tenderloin benedict, filet hash and eggs, and roasted chicken madeira. $32 for adult; additional menu featuring kid-friendly plates for $8.

Trace at the W Austin (200 Lavaca St., 542-3660, traceaustin.com): Easter brunch with live music on the patio. A three-course prix fixe menu includes crispy crab cake, slow roasted prime rib, seafood pozole and chocolate pot de creme. $55 a person with an a la carte menu for the kids.

Trio at Four Seasons Hotel (98 San Jacinto Blvd., 685-8300, triorestaurantaustin.com): Easter brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Buffet of more than 80 items, including traditional breakfast entrees and a fresh seafood bar. Children of guests can take part in the hotel’s annual Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn. $78 for adults, $25 for kids age 6 to 11.
