  From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Inherit Austin, a membership branch of the Heritage Society of Austin, is hosting its third annual Somewhere in Time dinner at Camp Mabry, 2200 W. 35th St. In addition to the fundraiser dinner, from 34th Street Cafe, guests will also have the chance to learn about the history behind the central Austin landmark that is the home of the Texas National Guard and tour the Texas Military Forces Museum. • From 6 p.m. to midnight Nov. 9, you can explore the wide world of oysters at the first Austin Oyster Festival, taking place at Shoal Crossing Event Center, 8611 N. MoPac. Patricio Sandoval, the culinary director for Mercadito Mexican restaurants in New York, Chicago and Miami, has put together most of the menu, which will showcase the diversity of oysters available in North America. You’ll find raw, grilled and fried oysters, oyster po’boys and the Oysters Rockefeller, as well as complementary sides dishes and desserts.
