“Into the Sacred City: Tibetan Buddhist Deities from the Theos Bernard Collection”

Sand Mandala Project
When: Nov. 14-18
Construction of the mandala will take place during museum hours Nov. 14 through 18. An opening ceremony is at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and closing ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 18.
What: Tibertan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery in Atlanta will spend several days constructing an intricate highly-patterned large-scale sand mandala using million of grains of sand in the Blanton’s atrium.
Tickets: Free with museum admission ($5-$9; Thursdays are free)
