Dell Inc. stepped up its product placement on many of last year's most popular television series, so it wasn't about to miss out on a hit show being filmed within minutes of its headquarters.
The company's products have landed a spot in MTV's latest season of "The Real World," which will start filming this month in Austin, said Michael George, Dell's chief marketing officer.
MTV expects to air the 24 episodes in June.
"If they're going to be in Austin, we thought we should be a part of it," George said. "And they wanted us to be a part of it, too."
Dell merchandise has appeared more and more on television hits such as the CSI collection of shows on CBS. In December, two of the company's products made Oprah Winfrey's "Favorite Things" list, which the popular talk show host features every year on one of her most-watched episodes.
