'Rock Star' Patrice

Austin singer survives another elimination round on the CBS reality show

Austin singer Patrice Pike survived the latest cut on "Rockstar: Supernova," the CBS reality show which will take 13 weeks to hire a lead singer for a new band comprised of drummer Tommy Lee (ex-Motley Crue), bassist Jason Newsted (ex-Metallica) and guitarist Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N' Roses).

The former Sister 7 leader was on shaky ground Tuesday night when judge Dave Navarro panned Pike's performance of "Remedy" by the Black Crowes by saying "I'm not seeing anything different and, frankly, I'm getting a little bored." Patrice was one of the bottom three votegetters who performed for their "Rockstar" lives on Wednesday's elimination show. But with her back against the wall, Pike came out fiercely, nailing Radiohead's "My Iron Lung," with Lee exclaiming "That's what I'm talking about!" at the end of the riveting performance.

Maryland singer Phil Ritchie was sent packing, though Dallas singer Zayra Alvarez was clearly the weakest of the three perfomers. I would say that maybe she's got something on Tommy Lee, but what could there possibly be about him that we haven't seen or heard?
