GETTING IN
Last year, there were long lines on the festival's first day; at the peak hour of 1:30 p.m., the wait to get in was an hour or more. This year, the festival has more than doubled the number of workers at the gate, so lines should move faster. Even so, gate workers will be busy taking tickets, redeeming wristbands and performing security checks, so don't expect to waltz right in. Festival organizers advise that if there's an act you especially want to see, show up at the gate an hour ahead of time, just to play it safe.
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION
There is no parking at the festival site. Capital Metro is providing free shuttle service from Waterloo Park at Trinity between 12th and 14th streets. Shuttles start at 10:30 a.m. each day. The last shuttle leaves the festival at 10:30 p.m. Also, the hours of the Starlight Dillo will be extended during the festival. It will operate every 12-14 minutes at all stops marked "Starlight Dillo," from 10 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Sunday. Cap Metro also offers other routes to the festival; see www.capmetro.org for more information.
Parking for the shuttle service is available at the lots noted in the map below (all lots except the public parking garage at 12th and Trinity are state lots, which are charging a special discount rate of $3 on festival days). Note: On Friday, state lots will not be available until 6 p.m.
Taxis will be allowed convenient access to the festival entrance and exit, and will have a designated area for pickup and dropoff. Visit http://www.austintexas.org/visit--gethere--incity.php#cab for a list of cab companies.
Bike racks are available at the festival entrance gate, with plenty of lighting. You must provide your own lock.
Barton Springs Road will be closed at Robert E. Lee Road and Stratford Drive, at the canoe rental area. Robert E. Lee Road and streets into Barton Hills will be closed to thoroughfare except for neighborhood residents.

LET'S BE CAREFUL OUT THERE
Emergency medical staff will be available on site. If you need any assistance, go to the medical tent (to the right of the entrance as you walk in), or look for a police officer or festival staff member.
During the first day of last year's festival, about 30 people became overheated. If the weather is warm, take precautions. Keep hydrated (there will be water fountains throughout the grounds), wear appropriate clothing and headgear and use sunscreen.
FOR THE KIDS
The Austin Kiddie Limits Stage at the Beach will offer many ways to keep your kids entertained. Inside the tent, there will be age-appropriate musical performances and activities, such as arts and crafts. Outside, there will be a sand-filled artificial "beach" with a volleyball court, chairs, umbrellas and toys. (See map page xx to find Austin Kiddie Limits)
Note: This area is NOT a child-care center. Parents are responsible for their own children.
