The Bacon Takedown has been a highlight of South by Southwest Interactive since 2010, but this year, founder Matt Timms is putting a new spin on the contest.
Yesterday, he announced that this year’s competition with be a Mac and Cheeze Takedown from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Shangri-La , 1016 E. Sixth St.
Timms, whose most recent Austin contest was a Cookie Takedown in Christmas, says that local cooks can sign up to compete by emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those of you keeping track of these kinds of things, it looks like The Food Experiments, another New York-based cooking competition, will not be returning to Austin for SXSW this year. For three years, the contests went head-to-head, sometimes taking place on the same day of the interactive conference.
