Lesa Rossick, who writes the blog Keep Austin Eatin’ (keepaustineatin.com) and Instagrams under the handle @keepaustineatin, caught my eye with this photo from her Sunday brunch at Porter Ale House, the gastropub at 3715 S. First St. that opened in January.

Although the restaurant has gained a reputation for its pierogies, recently voted the best in Texas by the Austin Polish Society, Rossick pointed her camera toward this towering dish: a slice of mushroom polenta topped with a poached egg, bacon, black truffle, greens and a crispy slice of baked Parmesan. Brunch photos are among the most popular on #Austin360Eats, but we haven’t seen many from Porter Ale House, which serves its brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In other Porter news, people who live in the neighborhood (not that I know anyone who does) might have noticed a large production crew on site a few weeks ago, right around the time Tom Colicchio was in Austin for a shoot. (That intersection also just got a stoplight, which is far bigger news for locals.)

Maybe we’ll be seeing more of Porter Ale House in the spotlight soon…
