Definitely worth a second chance

Happened along this place on a Sunday afternoon. Menu selection & ambience of the place definitely peeked by curiosity. Started off with the seafood stuff mushrooms which was probably the best I ever had. Moved on to a cup of seafood gumbo, the color look promising but thought the roux was a little bitter. Finished up with the shrimp creole and red beans & rice. The creole was good & would order it again but I had to spice it up with some table hot sauce. My wife got the shrimp gumbo as her entree. She couldn't finish it because it was too bitter. Think they burnt their roux. Hoping that it was just a bad kitchen day, because I really like to make this place a regular stop.

We went for lunch and were very pleased with our meals. The kids meals were varied and there was a lot of food. The kids received beads as well. The pulled pig, shrimp basket and catfish baskets were all very tasty and filling. The service was AWESOME! Prompt seating, food was out in a timely manner, and our glasses were never empty. I would definately go again.

I had an incredible time during my visit and the food and service was outstanding! I told Carolyn it was my first visit and she really made me feel welcome. The boudin was delightful. It is well worth the drive from Austin. I plan to visit many times and try different dishes.
