Where Austinite Drew Brees stands on kneeling during the national anthem

While President Donald Trump’s comments on NFL players who do not stand for the national anthem drew many polarized responses from both players and onlookers, Saints quarterback and Westlake football alum Drew Brees had a different take on the issue.

Meeting with media after a Sunday victory, NBC sports reports, Brees said he disagrees with both Trump and his fellow players who kneeled during the anthem.

Brees also told the media that he has had “candid” conversations with teammates about the issues before and plans to do the same after Sunday.
