Yard Bar is hosting a live version of the Puppy Bowl, during which local dogs will play football and adoptable pups will participate in a halftime show.

There will be puppies and small dogs playing football in North Austin on Saturday. Let that sink in for a moment.

Squealing yet?

Here are the details so you can watch this ridiculously cute spectacle in action. Yard Bar, one of the dog-friendliest bars in town thanks to a huge puppy playground, is hosting a live version of Animal Planet’s “Puppy Bowl” the day before the Super Bowl game.

Anyone is welcome to watch, but if you’re the owner of a dog 35 lbs. or less, your dog can also participate in one of the 20-minute quarters of gridiron goodness. Sign them up for the quarter of your choice on Eventbrite for $15.

In addition to the quarters of Puppy Bowl Live, there will be overtime — and a halftime show featuring adoptable pups from Austin Pets Alive. This year’s Super Bowl halftime show from Justin Timberlake is probably not going to be as adorable, we’d bet.

The $15 participation fee (the afternoon is free to those without dogs in the match) gets you and your furry friend a game-day bandana, a Yard Bar pint glass and a complimentary beer.

If you’re a spectator, there will also be a Celis Brewery tap takeover with $5 pints, burger and hot dog specials throughout the day, and plenty of room to watch the show. Yard Bar’s Puppy Bowl runs from 12 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 3 at 6700 Burnet Rd. For more information, visit yardbar.com/events.
