Former University of Texas Radio-Television-Film student, Esther’s Follies veteran and current “Saturday Night Live” featured player Noël Wells is set to tape an episode of KLRU’s “Overheard with Evan Smith” on April 23, and curious comedy fans have an opportunity to sit in.
Admission to the live, studio event is free, but an RSVP is required. Door to KLRU Studio 6A open at 2:45 p.m., and the taping begins at 3:15 p.m. There will be an audience Q&A with Wells after the taping.
Wells, 27, moved to Los Angeles to pursue a comedy career after graduating in 2010, according to a press release for “Overheard,” and her sketch videos have over 12 million views on YouTube. Wells will be in town for the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival. Since joining ‘SNL’ this season as a featured player, Wells has made her mark with impressions of celebrities like Lena Dunham and Zooey Deschanel.
