Stumped about what to get Dad for Father’s Day? You can never go wrong with booze and barbecue, and Uncle Billy’s Brewery is well aware of that.
The Barton Springs brewery has teamed up with 365ThingsAustin, Capital Cruises and Austin Tour Company for a special two-hour Father’s Day cruise down Lady Bird Lake featuring Uncle Billy’s beers and brisket sliders, pulled pork tacos and sides. (Father’s Day is June 18 this year, for those of us really behind on such things.)
Before the BrewBCruise, get your boozy good time started early with drinks at the Yeti Flagship store on South Congress, where your ticket will get you a free beverage and 30 percent off all merchandise.
That’s from 12 to 2 p.m. Boarding for the cruise starts at 1:30 p.m., and the boat party will set sail on the lake beginning at 2 p.m.
The best part? The whole afternoon costs $40 per person.
(Plus, if Dad prefers bourbon over beer, the cruise is BYOB. He can bring whatever he likes.)
Boarding is in front of the Hyatt Regency Town Lake. For more information and to book your passage, visit austintourcompany.rezdy.com/110843/father-s-day-brewbcruise.
If you or your old man get seasick, obviously a cruise simply won’t do. Here are some other options for a slightly boozy day out with Dad.
- Father’s Day Chocolate Tasting. Take him to Delysia Chocolatier to satisfy his sweet tooth. Beer from Hops & Grain will also be provided.
- Father’s Day Brunch at Freedmen’s. In addition to the usual brunch items, the campus-area barbecue spot is offering Beef Short Rib Benedict. Freedmen’s has a killer whiskey selection to pair with that hefty feast.
- Father’s Day Terrarium Class. Does your dad have a crafty side? Make a dinosaur terrarium with him at Blue Owl Brewing. The $30 tickets also get you four pours of Blue Owl beer and a branded glass to take home.
Father’s Day Brunch with Rentsch Brewery. Georgetown families can stop into the new Sheraton hotel there for $42 brunch and a beer tasting from Rentsch, Georgetown’s only brewery.
