Planning to catch the shuttle bus to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Expo this weekend? The shuttle stop has changed this year: Head to Highland Mall instead of Nelson Field.
The free expo, a two-day event celebrating the outdoors in Texas, kicks off Saturday and is expected to attract 40,000 visitors to a 35-acre site in Southeast Austin. Visitors can fish and shoot and kayak, learn about solar power and rainwater collection, watch birds of prey, learn nature photography and pick up tips on nature conservation, among other activities.
The expo, now in its 14th year, takes place Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Parks & Wildlife Department headquarters, 4200 Smith School Road. Free shuttle buses will leave from the Highland Mall parking lot near Foley's and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
