Every summer is the summer of love in Austin. Whether you’re going on your first date or your 50th, these suggestions are sure to keep things hot (or cool, depending on which one you choose). These date ideas should last you all summer long!

In no particular order:

  1. Spend the entire summer on a blanket in the grass and enjoy Blues on the Green, Unplugged at the Grove, Sound and Cinema or the Austin Symphony.
  2. Drink indoors, because it’s too darn hot outside.
  3. Paddle around Lady Bird Lake in a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard, then go cool off in Barton Springs Pool.
  4. Tour one of Austin’s many breweries, wineries or distilleries.
  5. Go rollerskating at Playland.
  6. Find the best snow cone stand in Austin.
  7. Go to a drive-in movie.
  8. Relive the classics with the Paramount Classic Film Series.
  9. Have a water balloon fight.
  10. Go on a ghost tour downtown.
  11. Go to a concert at one of Austin’s legendary live music venues.
  12. Go for a hike on one of Austin’s many trails.
