Let’s talk about one of the steadfast pillars of modern society: the shower beer.
What’s a shower beer, you ask? Oh, my friends, let me educate you. It’s a beer that you drink ... in the shower. Sure, it sounds a little simple, if “simple” here means “maybe a little redneck.” And it is. But it’s also totally genius. Picture it: you’ve just gotten home from a long, hard day at work. All you want to do is kick back on the couch with a cold one and watch some TV, but you also need a shower, because it’s summer in Texas and you need to take four showers a day to be a functioning human. So you take the beer in the shower. You let the hot water run over you and sip on your icy cold brew. It’s truly the only way to unwind.
But Austin country group Reckless Kelly is here to solve the age-old dilemma associated with drinking a beer in the shower -- what do you do with the can when you’re not sipping on it? As the band showed us in a Facebook video, you can’t set it on the soap holder or on the caddy that hangs from the showerhead (I mean, you could, but there’s a rubber ducky in the way of this particular caddy). So they’ve come up with a solution: the Shakoolie.
As you can see in the infomercial above, the Shakoolie is consists of a double-sided sticker (a.k.a. a “launch pad”) you can place on the wall of your shower, and you simply stick your (Reckless Kelly-branded, of course) Shakoolie on it. It’s simple. It’s brilliant. And it maybe isn’t a good idea to use a glass beer bottle with it.
Reckless Kelly is selling them online for $12.99 each.
