Whether we’ve been naughty or nice this year, there’s one thing we’re all getting for Christmas in Austin: a seasonally festive pop-up bar called Miracle that will spread holiday merriment Nov. 24 through Dec. 31.
Miracle, which launched three years ago as a pop-up bar in New York City called Miracle on 9th Street, is appearing this holiday season in more than 50 locations worldwide, from Quebec to Panama City. In Austin, the Eleanor, owned by the co-founders of cocktail bar the Roosevelt Room, will be transformed into Miracle on 5th Street.
Like all other locations, the Eleanor will deck its halls with proper holiday decor: lights, garlands, ribbons and tchotchkes, the whole she-bang. Also expect a soundtrack of classic Christmas tunes to play constantly, according to a news release.
And you can bet there will be some killer holiday cocktails, too, served in custom glassware (which will be available for purchase, with 10 percent of all proceeds going toward nonprofit Action Against Hunger). Even Scrooge would crack a smile at these seasonally festive drinks.
The opening night of Miracle on 5th Street will be one holiday party you really won’t want to miss, with gifts “under the Christmas tree, cocktail-shaking elves and a possible visit from Santa Claus himself,” according to the release. The Eleanor’s co-owners, Justin Lavenue and Dennis Gobis, have teamed up with the Barman’s Fund to donate all tips from opening night to the Austin’s Children Shelter.
