The Austin Convention and Visitor’s Bureau celebrates Volume 13 of its Austin Music CD series featuring songs by local artists with a free after-work shindig from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the new Austin Visitor Center, which opened earlier this month at 602 E. Fourth St. (adjacent to the north end of Convention Center).
Latasha Lee & the Black Ties and Riders Against the Storm, both of whom have cuts on the disc, will perform. The first 100 to arrive will get a free copy of the disc, which also features songs from the Black Angels, True Believers, Shinyribs, Church on Monday, Residual Kid, Megafauna, the Nightowls, A. Sinclair, Sons of Fathers, Mrs. Glass, Jazz Mills, Money Chicha and Christopher Denny. The CD will be for sale at the visitor Center and Waterloo Records as well as online at www.austintexas.org.
