Update 1:58 p.m.: A new message on Willie Nelson’s Facebook page details the injuries suffered by band members in the early morning crash:
The band’s bus (Willie was in his own bus) crashed along I-30 around 3:30 AM when it hit a bridge pillar — about 80 miles east of Dallas. We believe it is due to icy conditions on the road.
No one suffered serious injuries. Paul English injured his ankle, Billy English suffered a bruised hip and crew member Tom Hawkins has a cracked rib. The other family members on the bus are sore but everyone is expected to recover fully. The last four dates in November have been postponed and the tour resumes as scheduled in December (the December dates include two New Year’s Eve shows at ACL Live).
Earlier: Some members of Willie Nelson’s band have been hospitalized after an early morning tour bus crash on icy Texas roads. None of the injuries are reported to be life threatening, although one band member suffered serious injuries. Willie was not on the bus that was involved in the accident.
A message on Nelson’s Facebook page says the tour has been suspended indefinitely. We’ll update as we get more information.
