Planner, Aug. 22: ACL Fest Late Night Shows, more on sale Friday

The multiple-stage, three-day Austin City Limits Music Festival initially took place under the hot sun of mid-to-late September, until fest producers smartened up and changed the dates to early October. In 2013, for the first time, the festival expanded to take over two weekends, and this year will be no different. Both weekends’ three-day passes are sold out, as are both Saturdays’ day passes. Single-day tickets for both Fridays and Sundays are still available, and starting this Friday, tickets to the ACL Fest Late Night Shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. Not everyone on the ACL Fest lineup will play these side concerts at a variety of Austin’s best venues, but the list is rather extensive.

Because we live in Austin, and music is such an integral part of daily life, there will be other shows not related to ACL Fest going on in October as well. One of them is B.o.B. at Stubb’s on the 24th. The hip-hop singer-songwriter, named Bobby Ray Simmons Jr., released his third full-length album last year, “Underground Luxury,” and recently announced his “No Genre” tour with Kevin Gates to start late October and continue through late November. He released a mixtape, “No Genre Pt. 2,” last month that features collaborations with T.I., Sevyn Streeter and others. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
