Father John Misty stared at his phone during the eclipse at a Texas Buc-ee’s, because of course he did

In today’s edition of “Celebrities! They’re just like us!” and also “Father John Misty is at it again,” the musician stopped at a Texas Buc-ee’s store during Monday’s eclipse, according to his Facebook page. But he didn’t watch the eclipse.

His cohorts stand in the Buc-ee’s parking lot, faces turned to the sky, bespectacled with special eclipse viewing gear. Father John Misty stares at his phone, wearing normal ol’ sunglasses. He does not have time for your eclipse nonsense. There are way more important things happening on his phone (maybe he was planning for his “Austin City Limits” performance on Tuesday night, or furthering his feud with Ryan Adams).

Either he wants you to think he’s way too cool to enjoy natural wonders that only happen once every several decades and generally bring joy to many people, or this is supposed to be another bit of Father John Misty’s brand of social commentary. Frankly, you never really know with this guy.

Here are some of the acts that will be performing at ACL Fest in 2017.
