Ahoy! Alamo Drafthouse is hosting two boat parties over Memorial Day weekend, giving Austinites the chance to take a cruise over the long weekend and enjoy a movie.
On Saturday, May 27, the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Boat Party Adventure features a screening of the film at 11 a.m. at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar followed by a “pirate adventure” on Lady Bird Lake. The catch: They won’t let you on the pirate ship if you’re dressed like a landlubber, so channel your best Captain Jack Sparrow and plan your costume. Tickets include the cost of the movie, the cruise, refreshments and multiple events aboard the Black Pearl. For tickets and more information, visit the Drafthouse website.
If pirates aren’t your thing, maybe you’d rather enjoy the opera. On Monday, May 29, Alamo Drafthouse Ritz is screening Werner Herzog’s “Fitzcarraldo” at 3:30 p.m., followed by an evening boat ride with refreshments from Easy Tiger and Antonelli’s Cheese Shop. Visit the Drafthouse’s website for tickets and more information.
