Donations continue to roll in for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
During an episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to air Sept. 7, the daytime host, who has already pledged $50,000 of her own money for relief efforts, presented a $1 million check courtesy of Walmart to J.J. Watt's fundraising initiative.
Watt, a defensive end for the Houston Texans, has raised more than $9 million so far for those affected by the storm, according to his crowdfunding pledge page.
"What you’re doing is incredible. We want to help," the comedian told Watts via FaceTime.
"Walmart is on track to donate over $20 million in cash and supplies to Hurricane Harvey relief," she continued. "But, that is not all. Walmart is also donating $1 million to J.J.’s relief effort right now."
"I have no words," Watt said, stunned by the contribution. "Thank you. Thank you to you, thank you to Walmart. I promise you that I will make this money go a long way. I promise you that I will help these victims directly. I promise it will help rebuild Houston."
Miley Cyrus was also in the spirit of giving during an emotional appearance on “Ellen” when she revealed she wanted to donate $500,000 to the cause.
"It'll make me cry. So, I can't really ... I can't really talk about it," the singer said, getting choked up. "I don't know why it makes me so upset. It just really makes me just really upset."
"I'm really happy to help (in) anyway that I can," she added, "and I hope people understand and can put themselves in those people's shoes and just know what it feels like to have everything taken away from you."View full experience
