Made for margaritas: Dulce Vida debuts pineapple jalapeño tequila

9:26 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 Things to Do

The Austin-based Dulce Vida Tequila is continuing its line of flavored agave spirits with the newly launching Pineapple Jalapeño Tequila. Made at a distillery in Los Altos, Mexico, the product is first a blanco tequila that is then infused with real pineapple, jalapeño and other natural flavors.

With Dulce Vida's new tequila, we don't have to mix pineapple and jalapeño into a cocktail with the agave spirit because they've already been infused in the blanco tequila, making it ever easier to sip our favorite drinks.

Tequila infusions, unlike vodka infusions, are still uncommon to find on the market, but Dulce Vida’s owners, Milestone Brands, are also the former producers of Deep Eddy Vodka and are banking on the viability of flavored tequila. Milestone recently celebrated one year in business.

The Pineapple Jalapeño Tequila starts sweet and finishes with a mild spicy kick, according to a press release. It joins Dulce Vida’s line of flavored tequilas with the previously released Lime and Grapefruit and has a suggested price point of $19.99. Dulce Vida suggests shooting it, but there’s no doubt the pineapple and jalapeño flavors make it well-suited for our beloved margarita and other tequila cocktails, too.

And with National Tequila Day on July 24, now might be a good time to buy it.
