Ink Tank Collective is at it again — staging another sprawling happening that part performance, part pop-up exhibit and part public happening and party.
The 13-member (more or less 13 members, that is) artist collective stages a sequel to its “More Awkward Than Heavy” happening from last year, once again commandeering the warren of rooms and hallways and stairways that comprise the Up Collective, an East Austin art studio building.
Almost anything goes for Ink Tank, who netted the 2011-2012 Austin Critics’ Table Award for Best Independent Project for “Last New Year,” a similar installation/exhibit/performance they unleashed on an abandoned house in East Austin.
No telling exactly what the collective has up its sleeve for “2 Awkward 2 Heavy” but likely it’ll be a crazy mix of performances and installations all delightfully designed to express those moments of awkwardness we all feel as we move through the world.
“More Awkward Than Heavy II: 2 Awkward 2 Heavy” 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 10
Up Collective, 2326 E. Cesar Chavez St.
