Up to a quarter-inch of rain possible, forecasters say
Update 11:30 a.m.: Central Texas will see light to moderate showers today as a upper-level pressure system continues to make its way east.
An urban and small stream flood advisory for Travis and surrounding counties was issued ahead of the storms, National Weather Service meteorologist Cory VanPelt said. The advisory is in effect until 2 p.m., the service said.
“Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding … especially along small streams and near low water crossings,” the advisory said.
Areas that could be affected include the Anderson Mill, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Bastrop, Canyon Lake dam, Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Elgin, Georgetown, Giddings and New Braunfels areas.
The region could see up to one-fourth inch of rain, VanPelt said.
By early afternoon, “we should see the sun move back in,” he said.

“For the rest of the week, we are expecting some pleasant weather,” Morris said late Monday.
