Oscar Brockett memorial scheduled
The public memorial service for University of Texas professor emeritus Oscar G. Brockett will be held Dec. 11 at 4 p.m., UT’s College of Fine Arts announced today.
The service will take place in the Payne Theatre Winship Drama Building, 23rd Street and San Jacinto streets. A reception will follow.
Brockett, considered by many to be the world’s foremost theater historian, was a professor emeritus in UT’s Department of Theatre and Dance and was head of the doctoral program in theater history from 1980-1999. He passed away Nov. 7 at age 87.
