Relax — When it reopens, Arthouse will be open late
We know — it’s exciting to contemplate the re-opening of Arthouse. After a visionary renovation by Lewis Tsurumaki Lewis Architects, the Congress Avenue contemporary arts center will be downtown Austin’s most vibrant visual arts destination.

How to take it all in? Relax. Arthouse will be open late.
Smartly anticipating how a downtown visual arts destination might best serve a busy public, Arthouse leaders have crafted a regular schedule of extended public hours that stretch into the evening. Now, Arthouse is poised to be destination for those headed downtown to take advantage Austin’s other cultural and entertainment offerings.
And remember: Arthouse exhibitions and educational programs are FREE and open to the public.
Arthouse public hours:
- Wednesday — 12 noon to 11 p.m.
- Thursday — 12 noon to 9 p.m.
- Friday — 12 noon to 9 p.m.
- Saturday — 12 noon to 9 p.m.
- Sunday — 12 noon to 5 p.m.
- Closed Monday & Tuesday
But wait, there’s more! On Wednesday nights, in addition to late-night gallery hours for all visitors, the spiffy new 5,500-square-foot rooftop deck will be open as a lounge for all Arthouse members. Members can hang out and enjoy stunning views of the downtown skyline. Some refreshments will be available and members can BYO it, with moderation, as well. (No, you can’t bring your own keg.) Look for info to come on some carry-out specials from neighboring vendors.
