LADY BIRD’S LEGACY
The recent rains should help. For the past few years, the Texas Department of Transportation and others have planted wildflower seeds in memory of Lady Bird Johnson. The American-Statesman has raised more than $100,000 for that legacy project.
Unfortunately, donors have not seen bountiful results so far because of the drought. Through the end of the year, the newspaper will continue to accept donations for Lady Bird’s Legacy. To find out more, call 512-445-1733 or email wildflowers@statesman.com or visit statesman.com/wildflowers.
