This is not a productive way to donate money for cancer research.
According to their Form 990 for 2008, $447,396 was donated to the organization of which only $227,000 went to the category 'Program Expenses'.
A staggering 49.3% of the monies donated went to Executive compensation, bicycle equipment, food. gas and other support costs as well as fund raising costs.
You can donate directly to the American Cancer Society and 2x as much money will go to research, prevention and education.

Mike Casey (not shown) was my flight instructor prior to riding on the last Texas 4000. He is now a USAF 2nd Lt. training to fly F-16. I envy all of them.
