Midwinter Madness, Part 11: Gruv Fashion Party
In the year since Fabric became Gruv, the smallish, modish club on Fifth Street has developed quite a following, mostly young, snappy dressers who ate up the Soigne and Slate’s Beauty and the Beat fashion show Friday. (Sorry about the late report, but those 12 parties really backed up the blogging time.) Owner Donny Dadda was wise to leave the tripartite space with the glowing bar pretty much alone. Funny thing, the crowd looked even more fashion-forward — lots of fake fur — than the runway models. We spoke to Chantal, the “America’s Next Top Model” finalist, who told me about her pending move to Los Angeles to nurture her career. She appears incredibly sweet and encouraged all her colleagues within our hearing.
