Explosions In The Sky + Sept. 11 concert = NY media freakout
In a textbook case of making a mountain out of a molehill, New York media outlets got themselves all in a lather over the last week or so over a concert on Sept. 11 at a Boise, ID theater featuring Austin’s Explosions In The Sky.
Seems putting the band’s name on a marquee next to the most infamous date in recent American history (on what’ll be the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks, no less) was a touchy enough proposition for TV news to spend a few minutes huffing and puffing about the unfortunate synchronicity.
In other news, this marks the first time most folks in New York City have ever thought about Boise for more than five consecutive seconds.
