Willie Nelson offered a plea deal in pot case
The prosecutor in Hudspeth County, where Willie Nelson was arrested for marijuana possession in November, has proposed a plea bargain for the Red Headed Stranger. According to Big Bend Now, in addition to a guilty plea and a small fine, county attorney Kit Bramblett will ask Willie to play “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” in the courtroom.
It turns out that Bramblett, 77, is a life-long fan. “You bet your ass I ain’t gonna be mean to Willie Nelson,” he said of the decision. Bramblett is also being lenient when it comes to a court date, asking that Nelson call his office the next time a tour brings him through the area.
